Since closing Love Sweet Things bricks and mortar, I'm craving the need to serve. I'm not disappointed in the fact that I closed the shop, I'm more disappointed that I no longer get to see my customers and my team of warriors (Cheyenne, Rachel, Del and Kimberly) and others, whom I got to know and love 😢
My stomach pitter patters when I think back talking to you all about your vision for your sweet things and how excited I would get knowing how fortunate I was being given the opportunity to celebrate milestone dates just by doing what I love 💗. I didn't take the task lightly and I knew that if I reached to exceed your expectations, then you would be WOWED or HAPPY to say the least. My joy came from knowing how excited I made someone who was celebrating something special or just receiving a sweet gift 🎁. That joy has faded for me. Bringing my business back home and having you all pickup at the local coffee shop is SO UNFULILLING for me. I knew it would be because it's so impersonal and I wouldn't be able to see your beautiful expressions of excitement when you saw our craft. But I had to at least try right?🤷🏻♀️
And my team of warriors, I can't tell you how fortunate I was to have met you. Most of you were fresh out of culinary school. I knew it would be costly to hire trained culinary grads to help build a business. But the dedication, loyalty and hard work you all brought to the table was a bargain! You just can't buy good employees and I got lucky. The greatest blessing was watching you all prosper in your skills 😊. The relationship we built as a family was just a bonus. I was so hell bent, I know! Always strive to improve your skills, Do it right the first time, go beyond the customer's expectations, create systems and checklists to simplify roles and responsibilities and countless others 😅. But I was committed to teaching you everything I knew about decorating, baking and weather or not it mattered, the business. Because I thought it played a critical part in building and getting new business. Which yes to some degree it does, but some things were not. It turns out, I just love sharing what I know. (Except gossip. I can still keep some good secrets!) 🤭
Anyhow, playing this over and over and over and over and over and trying to figure out how to get back what I'm missing I need to (i don't like this word! its my equal to some peoples feelings for the word "moist") pivot 🙄😝 🤦🏻♀️
So, how do I do this 🤷🏻♀️. Well for starters my products will be available online (as they have been) and you can select pickup or delivery. Pickups will be at my home during set hours as well as deliveries. This way I get to see you meet you continue celebrating with you! 🙋🏻♀️
Lastly, I want to be able to share EVERYTHING that I know about decorating cakes, cookies, making icings etc😯 Yes y'all! That's right! 😉That means our Sunday Afternoon, White Chocolate Raspberry, Black Tie Affair, Velvet Rush, Banana Rama ALL OF IT. I want to simplify them and share them with you!🤭🙋🏻♀️I will be creating videos, tutorials eventually create some online courses and sharing them on my social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. If you find that you'd rather just continue paying me to make them for you, then no problem! I got you :)
Now I have a long way to go to learn all of the techy bells and whistles (which by the way that's about the only thing I miss from my corporate days!) but bear with me. I'm pretty tech savvy already so hopefully you won't be waiting long. In the mean time For starters I posted my first video tutorial on how to make Spicy Tortellini Soup in my IGTV. Yes, I'm eager to share some of my own family favorite dishes too! AND I posted my first “coming out” video on Tiktok! 🤣🙋🏻♀️ You guys I had way too much fun doing it! I can’t wait to share some more stuff with y’all! Follow me on Instagram, Facebook and tiktok for more videos and tutorials🙋🏻♀️😊
Feel free to share any of my videos, I don’t mind if it brings laughter or good info to even one person, it’s worth it!
Thank you for allowing me to continue celebrating those special milestone dates with you and I'm looking forward to sharing some really good recipes with you!
xoxo,

Amy, I have seen the time when you brought the trial cupcake and the lovely cakes to Westlake office!!!
You have come a long way Amy. You are one of the warriors who has shown resilience in tough time. I am sure that your team is also handpicked by you who is just like you.
So proud of you Amy 👍

I’ve missed coming to your store!! I miss all of my favorite cupcakes! I’m too far now for delivery, since we moved. But I still look longingly at the store front every time I drive by. 😭😭
